End To Death Penalty?
The front news of Daily Express today. Will Malaysia finally ends the Death Penalty? For you guys who are not aware or who has no clue at all about Malaysia's jurisdiction, yes, this country still practices Death Penalty for offences such as murder and narcotics. I am not sure how the public will react to this news, but I am sure there will be split opinions about it.
My opinion? I am against Death Penalty as I believe people should be given the chance to redeem themselves and to prove that one day in the future they will be proven innocent and may get their freedom. Even if these offenders have to try and convince the court for the rest of their lives. There are some cases that these offenders has been wrongly accused, and sometimes the truth and evidence can be found that will finally prove their innocence.
I believe, no human has the rights to ends another human's life no matter what the offence or situation is. Unless of course if there is no other option than to end the person's life to protect others.

Instead of abolishing the death penalty outright, the legislators could've consider upping the criteria of the crimes that mandate the capital punishment.
Also, provide more time and recourse for convicts to conduct and appeal, either to prove their innocence or appeal for a lighter sentence.
Malaysia is one of the country in the world with the most brutal punishment for criminals. Besides hanging, caning is also part of the punishment too. But it still doesn't deter these criminals from taking the risks to go against the law. Caning is already harsh enough, I don't think these criminals will want to experience it again. So, thats why I think the Death Penalty should be abolished. Sometimes people makes mistakes and they wanted to repent. To punish them with death is just too much.
