Earl The Hedgehog street 🦔🦔🦔
This my Hedghog Earl he is a Wild Hog but has been visiting my garden for a while. He is Wild and is free to leave at any time he pleases.
I suppliment his natural diet with Hedgehog Food from ArkWidlife which is mostly plastic free too. And most importantly a shallow bowl of water. A lots of hogs die from dehydration even in Wales, UK!
I have a blue hog house with straw which he sleeps see the photo below. Your not to disturb hogs in the nest so that's the only photo I have from when I checked one morning and he decided to stay over!
Earl usually comes out at around 11pm this time of year hense the wildlife camera getting really late night photos.
I really enjoy staying up and watching him doing his thing wandering around making snorting noises as he goes about.
You can usually hear him before you see him.
I should also note I have no idea if this hog is a boy or a girl at all 😂
Male hogs in July are usually spending their time looking for females. The females are usually starting to take their babies outside and this time of year expect to see baby hogs.
Hogs are solitary creatures and spend most of their time alone apart from when the females raise their young. The males dont hang around.
In am evening a hog can wander for up to 2 miles. This is why it is essential that 10cm holes are cut through fences so they can roam free.
