Why was the Nile river so important ?

Because Egypt got almost no rain. But every year the Nile flooded the fields along its banks,bringing fresh water and rich black silt, which helped crops to grow. Farmers dug irrigation channels to carry water to distant fields. All of Egypt 🇪🇬 great city’s lay on the river, which was also a vital thoroughfare for boats carrying people and goods.
