Medieval Torture Device or Lawn Tool?

I bought these bad boys off of Amazon and received them in the mail today. I thought it was a good idea to just put these lawn aerator spikes on the bottom of your foot, and turns out someone already thought of it! Just walk around the yard, and voila, aerated lawn. A bit scary looking but awesome idea in my opinion.

These other two photos above show them completed and then strapped to my boots. If you use a tool like this, I highly recommend steel toe workboots like mine. A couple times during use I nearly stepped on one foot with the other. As you might imagine, it's a bit cumbersome walking around with 4 inch spikes on the bottom of your foot. Ask any woman wearing heals.

They seemed to be working good until I noticed one of these spikes laying in my lawn. Looks like the plastic sole wasn't able to withstand the hard Southern California soil in my yard. I still think this is a good design and an effective tool, but the material this one is made of is way too weak to withstand the amount of pressure a full grown man will apply to them during use. Too bad. I was really rooting for these. Maybe someday I'll find a pair with metal soles.
