Entitlement and Caring Attitude 权益和关怀态度

We want to have a society whereby the people are well attended according to their needs. As citizens of a country, we are entitled for certain rights and benefits such as medical service. A country like Malaysia does provide free medical service for the citizens. Hence, medical service is an entitlement.

Indeed, it is costly to meet the needs of every eligible citizen. For example, the medical service is getting more expensive than before. Beside that, there are also a large number of citizens being placed in queue for their turns of receiving medical attention. If every eligible citizen is dependent on the free medical service, the quality of service provided will be affected negatively due to demand over supply.

In order to resolve the above challenge, it is vital to educate the people that for the sake of caring for the needy, the well to do should be willing to let go their entitlement. It means that they are willing to go to the private hospitals or clinics to seek medical service and pay from their own pocket whatever expenses. By so doing, the government hospitals would attend to less patients, thereby, better service can be rendered to the needy.

As Malaysia is being developed, it is timely to inculcate the value of caring for others at the expense of forgoing one’s entitlement.

我们希望建立一个社会即人们能根据需要獲得良好的照顾。作为一个国家的公民，我们可以享有某些权益和福利例如医疗服务。如今马来西亚的确为其公民提供免费医疗服务，因此医疗服务在这个国家是一项权益。

实际上，如果要满足每位公民的需求是不便宜的，而医疗服务也会越来越昂贵。除此之外，如今很多公民都必须排期等候医疗照顾。如果每个符合条件的公民都依赖免费医疗服务，那么由于供不应求，政府所能提供的服务质素将会受到负面影响。

为了解决上述挑战，人民必须学习关懐有需要的人，甚至甘愿放弃个人的权利。这意味着有经济條件的人选择去私立医院或诊所寻求医疗服务，并由自己的口袋支付费用。通过这样做，政府医院将会照顾比较少的患者，从而能够为有需要的人提供更好的服务。

在马来西亚，随着我们社会的发展，我们有必要及时灌输照顾他人及放弃一己的权益。
