My Entry to Contest - "What does TODAY (June 1, 2019) Mean to ME? - #42" - It is about reading and @pifc!
I had to wake up early and cooked some rice for my wolfhound pup Rin.
For an unknown reason, she has diarrhea already for days. She is happy and active but diarrhea is not a good sign.
The strange thing is she has not during the night as she sleeps in her bench.
I decided to read some posts to kill time and join @pifc for the 2nd time.
I intended to read posts written by Steemians who are not already "rich and famous", although it beats me why many are (I read many other posts as well).
The more time passed the more I did regret it.
I am so tired of reading those one line posts or worse just a link, or a link plus some Wikipedia info.
My internet is too slow to click on all these links, it already takes me 5-10 minutes to load a post without pictures!
Dtube is a big NO for me as well.
I am quite sure I am not the only person with a slow connection, it is easy to just upvote, but I refuse to do so without reading the post first and leaving a comment.
If you read posts for 3 hours like I just did and finally found two that deserve some extra attention, you feel as if you have been riding a rodeo or two (feels more like five).
Even my neck hurts (do rodeo riders have whiplashes?) it makes me feel sick and all my nerves ache.
It was yesterday I decided to read more posts. I thought out a daily system and hope to save time this way and give those who deserve it some attention 💥💕 and who knows even a tip.
One tip I give now:
If you want to be found by Google, etc use tags that make sense.
What Steemians use will never be found back on the world wide web! Ask yourself which question or word you would type in Google to find your post (that is what I am going to do from now on. Steem will not be visible if we stay in our own circle and not write for the world outside!).
After I did my share of #payitforward, I go outside and eat some cherries.

I feel your pain @wakeupkitty. A faster internet honestly doesn't make it much easier. You just read twice as much crap. I have major issues with dTube too. I sometimes get a video very rarely do I get sound.
BTW the cherries look amazing. I have been such a food fiend today LOL. My mouth has watered at most everything I have seen.

... it is not easy, but you have persevered and found two more deserving Steemians. I have many times been frustrated by the same basic issue you have described here - really silly to completely useless posts with no value really at all ...
I'm smiling as I write, as I just finished my latest post and described my sincere efforts to try and write shorter posts. I let one commenter know I like my readers to "get their money's worth!" Haha ... 😉
Seriously, every day has its ups and downs, but keep "fighting the good fight" and someday you will look back and appreciate where you have been and what you have learned along the way. I just wrote about those I referred to as the "Magnificent Eleven" most of whom I met initially through the @pifc community. Including two whose work I featured and we have maintained contact for months since ...

If you don't mind a recommendation for you to consider, please give some thought to a couple of other communities which may be of interest to you. I have found encouragement in being a supporter of both - the Curation and Engagement League and the Minnow Power-Up League.
You have become a minnow recently it appears (> 500 SP), so you are making good progress! Being a part of these communities is important I believe. In my most recent post, you will find references and links to both of these here. My time is very limited, so "gotta fly!"

Completely agree with @roleerob. You're right about the Minnow Power Up League. The Engagement and Curation League is run by @abh12345. Each one you just need to go to the last post and reply that you want to be added. @abh12345's league lets you know how much you're posting, how many comments, upvotes and so forth, you get a score and then ranked on that score. It lets you know what you need to work on. The whole belief is that engagement is everything and it truly is. For Minnow Power Up League run by @paulag she shows your growth from the perspective of SP it's broken down to a percentage of growth from one week to the next. Great way to meet new people.
It sound like you're involved with @freewritehouse already which is awesome. I need to be more consistent in participating in @marieannwest's prompts. Lots of great people all around just really depends on what you like.
I freewrite, join #dailypetphotography, #petsofsteemit, every #ccc contest, #zapfic, I freewrite in German so join that community, I try to join @bananafish, #learnandearn, @pifc and what more people ask me for or show me. I try to comment at least 30 times a day, visit steem bounty, I join #seven77 and sent a tweak daily, but I am just 1 person with a very slow connection and this takes me nearly whole day and evening.
I will visit @abh12345 now.

You're set. All of these are great. You should find some decent people in those areas. Maybe not all of the time but a good portion. If you need suggestion from time to time let me know. If you're on discord look me up. My Discord ID is in my banner. If not it ok just comment in a post and I'll respond.
I can participate in the contest but I don't like to. I am here to support you guys and your features. I don't mind suggesting people I come across. It's up to you who you choose. What I would do and I know @bengy does this is just while you're reading posts or even comments on your own posts, take a look at that person when you find someone you like, then jot the name down. At one point I actually had 10 people I was keeping tabs on to use for my entries when I was a participant.
Shhhh! It's a trade secret!
I am grateful if you can give me some suggestions.
Also with posts to read, etc. It is hard for me to search with a slow connection and at times it feels I am stuck in my little circle.
I comment, answer who comments on me and visit those who comment or upvote me too. Noticed a part is still up voting but no longer active themselves but I keep checking that out.

The first post you featured is at 9 days so can't upvote them, really wish steem had a longer payout period. Still think a 7 day and then 30 day window for a second payout would encourage better content...but that is a different topic.
Know you put in the effort so your entry is considered valid, but only was able to support the second blogger.
Thanks for taking your time to do this. It shows how much you care about others to try and find people who deserve more exposure and rewards for their blogging efforts.
People can still read the first post and say something encouraging or find an other way to support.

I wonder if dtube is allowed and if how many text should be written to it. Same as with pictures?

dtube is completely allowed. It takes a lot of effort to make videos.
Art pictures are fine. Prefer at least 3 progressions of the work. Some text is needed, but we are more flexible about the 200 words on art.
A single photo we want to see 200 words of text.
