A CHALLENGE TO IMPROVE YOUR POSTINGS
I don't usually do challenges unless they enhance my proficiency on Steemit in one way or another . After all time is limited and if I spend time here why not make sure that it also developed my skills at the same time .
I was reading a post from someone I follow religiously . The information I get from doing so is priceless . He put out a challenge in his post today . One that develops skills , Steemit skills , so how can one not take up the task or challenge .
It's a simple challenge one that we are already doing . Its called an hour a day challenge . There is my tip for the day .
It takes me at a minimum of two hours , and up to six hours to complete a post . That's a long time . It tells you that I am not too familiar with word processor and formatting . Let along checking for errors and all the little things getting ones thought onto paper . That does not include the amount of times I had to start all over because I lost the texts.
Keeping my creating a post to one hour will be challenging with a small amount of fun thrown in . I am interested in seeing how after a week the improvements or new skills develop . I suspect it will be noticeable maybe not on your end but mine .
I have five minutes left . The time went by fast a little to fast . A week from now I will compare the first and last challenge posts . There should be a difference . I have nothing to lose by the challenge and only something to gain .
The payitforward lastest post now has its own account ( @pifc ) in order to support its perticapents better . As most of you know I am part of this curation contest . It is a good way for Redfish to increase their SP by entering . A post will come out later today with this weeks contest . Take a look and and see if its for you .

Generally, I like to put about 3 hours into my posts with about 1 hour on photo editing and research, 1 hour on writing and 1 hour on editing. If I include time spent doing the activity it could be more or less depending on the writing complexity. I like Steemit posts that look like there was a lot of effort put into it. Spam posts are for other plaforms.
I do however like the idea of doing 1 hour of posting a day. But I would prefer to release this in 2 or 3 blogs throughout the week. Maybe I will try it one day or break down complex subjects into parts.
Its a challenge to help people to organize and post regularly . In that aspect it is good and a learning experience that takes a week and will improve output over the long term
Some interesting aspect, dedicating an hour for something which many steemiens are fond of. The challenge is not an hour for me but doing justice to the challenge in that one hour...hehe..because even during studying it was very difficult concentrate only one thing for one hour...
But let me see...any how all the best for all who wanted to participate. BTW participating in photographic challenges in between comes under this category? Just asking..

One hour? That's just crazy talk! Does this include the time spent choosing and editing photos? Or just the writing part?
I've been traveling and not posting for a few weeks. But for the first month or so I kept a schedule. Writing down a bunch of ideas. Then choosing one to write out and photos to go with it. The next day posting it and starting a new one for the next day. If time permits, maybe start on another one.
Then I started writing less formal posts, things I was thinking about and my more structured ones are still sitting there, waiting for my brain to feel more structured too.
I'm thinking this challenge is just what I need right now.
Its a development skill practice . the more you do it the faster you perform . I was surprised with that post , but got it done in the hour . LOL
I am so glad to read this. Silly me thought I was the only one taking forever on a simple post.
I see most people post daily or even multiples. And then there is me.
I keep an editor open and just add to it here and there eventually figure it will do and hit the publish button. We see how well that works out.
That is the kicker right there. I may have to try this out.

Squeezing in one hour all that entails to create a good post is quite a challenge! Please don't tell me you include promoting the post on Discord communities within one hour!!! Usually it takes me close to one hour to have the post written and maybe one to two more hours to comment and other posts in order to promote my one.
I put my posts in 4 discords . I try and keep up with all the posts in them with at least a vote . So that does help . @asapers is a challenge due to the amount but I still try and get some of them and I use a mojo that no one else uses to mark the posts so when I put my post there I already made the requirements . I need to improve with my comments but the amount of votes I give out that's tuff .

What an awesome challenge! One I would definitely have trouble with as well! It takes me much longer to make a post... this is probably because of the types of post I make. I love to include photos and stories. Things take time! This kinda reminds me of a challenge I did when I first started Steemit. It was @future24's monthly author challenge. In the challenge you have to post once a day using the tag. It really helped me along! I believe you did great for your first day and also look forward to seeing what your post is like at the end!
@smylie2005 one hour limit hurt . But It did show some areas that need work . and I think in a week things will flow better .
This is an exciting challenge, @wolfhart! I too spend long hours on my posts, then when I got all occupied with my tutoring job for the past weeks, I resorted to my super short content of 5-minutes-freewrite. I do feel guilty and feel I underperformed. With your #anhouraday, it is good to get kickstarted again! :) I will re-edit my tags for today's post and add your new tag in, cos I really used an hour to write today!
I did my second one today . I have learned a lot from doing it . and will incorporate it my next one . I sure hope it is better than the last two 😆

I agree! Nothing better than finding someone who puts consistent effort into their posting so that you look forward to everything new that they submit!
