Living in the Wheat State part of the Breadbasket

We here in Kansas live in what is known as the "Breadbasket" of the world . Not much goes on here in the winter . Come spring the place comes alive . Tractor roam up and down the roads getting the fields ready for planting . By now most of the planting is done and growth has started in some fields depending on the crop . Mostly in this area corn and wheat is the main crop .

It is a very nice scene when the fields are all green . Mile after mile of green vegetation with the scatter of livestock here and there breaking up the scenery . All around me are privet farms . Ranging from on average 160 to 320 planting acres . There are a couple around 480 but not many . For the big corporation who plant plots of 660 Acres you have to go further west or north .

Like I stated in other post everybody knows each other and the sharing of equipment is standard. One might have a spreader while another has planter or fertilizer and they all share . Exchanging and assisting each other with equipment and information . Not the tractors though , a man gotta have a tractor or he is not a farmer . LOL

I just happened to finally get a shot of this yellow bird as he feed on one of our birdfeeders .Through the kitchen window and screen . I missed getting him over they last couple days and was not going to miss this one .

Wow thats great that other farmers share equipment 👏 farming is so fulfilling and rewarding but not the biggest money making thing considering the amount of work that has to go into it. We have to remember to always support our local farmers no matter where in the world you live 🧡🥒🥦🌽🍑 aloha 🌺 thanks for sharing
