Ghost Family Portrait

Indonesia is a country with a variety of cultures. Various kinds of culture make the belief in mystical things also vary, especially in terms of ghosts.

There are many stories about ghosts circulating in society, but some of the most famous ghosts are Sundel Bolong, Pocong, Genderuwo. There is also a kind of ghost named Tuyul, in the form of children who have died and are controlled by black magicians to steal money in people's homes.

Here are the photos behind the scenes, a short movie that tells the story of a ghost family who has Dracula's father.

This movie is the final project of several Cinema Faculty students at the Jakarta Art Institute.

Great photos! I know about those ghosts as my in-laws are from Indonesia and my father in law talks about them very often. It's interesting to see how this culture is different and what beliefs they have :)

I haven't visited Indonesia yet but I would love to. My husband was already born in the Netherlands and unfortunately he hasn't been to Indonesia neither. It would be a great trip to go together :)
