The Petals Collection : Red Poppies

The Red Poppy is an annual herbaceous plant originating in Turkey that impresses with its petals. The intensely colored flowers have high stems covered with protective perch. From May to the end of the month of July, red poppy can be admired almost everywhere, starting with the sunny areas of the plain to high altitudes, within grain crops, on the roadside or in the courtyard of plant lovers. The Mac is met under two major types: the first is the field poppy whose appearance is not controlled, spontaneous, and the second is poppy cultivated by humans. The only parts of poppy that can be administered for medicinal purposes are petals, the rest of the components being poisonous. The preparation of petals for medicinal use is done during the period of maximum development of the flowers, when they have to be picked and allowed to dry in a shady place. The best results are offered in treatments for respiratory diseases and insomnia. Poppy petals are used in the pharmaceutical industry for the preparation of teas, tinctures and syrups and are often the basis for obtaining morphine, one of the substances used to relieve pain. Besides the above mentioned benefits, the red poppy can beautify any garden by inducing good mood. To have a garden decorated with lots of poppies you only need to plant the seeds in the spring.
