I also occasionally cook food for my cat, though he generally prefers seafood over red meat, I only need to add a bit of gravy and he goes absolutely crazy. So that's my secret, to avoid adding gravy to a steak and then I have a bit of ownership for my food.

As you can see here, I prepared a steak with good old black pepper. Rump steak tends to be a little tougher, so I like to prepare it medium rare. This way, it oozes with natural flavour.
