Mother Teresa is a perfect example of a great Philanthropist that embodies the love of humanity. Mother Teresa greatly exemplifies humanistic tradition to help social problem of the society.

Her Early Life

Mother Teresa or originally known as Lxnjeze Gonxhe Bojaxlavi was born on August 26,1910 and was an Albanian-Indian descent. Accordingly, her father was involved in a community politics in Macedonia and eventually died on 1919.

Mother Teresa was just eight years old at that time. It was an eye opening for her and to get more involved and fascinated by the life and stories of missionaries. She was 12 when she committed herself to religious life.

She also fully strengthen her belief by practicing at shrine in Vitina-Italy. Then she also have some time and went to the Pilgrimage. She was just a young 18 years old when she left home and joined the sister of Loreto in Ireland. She pursue and learn the life of a Missionary.

Her Mission for Charities

After taking her fist bow on 1931 she then chose the name Therese de Lisieux which means the patron of saint missionaries. She served in Loreto School for more than 20 years before she moved to Calcutta. According to what I have read, she was fully disturbed by the chaos in India , the famine and Deaths in 1943 as well as the poverty surrounding the region.

” A call within the call”

that's what she described what she feels. In was in the year 1948 where she officially began her charity my mission for the poor. To further exemplified her will to help she adopted Indian citizenship after achieving residency.

She founded some school that would cater the needs of those unfortunate children before really focusing herself on the poor people. In her humanitarian approach she was easily noticed by the Indian government and she was later joined by a group of young women in the religious sectors.

Our Lord wants me to be a free nun covered with the poverty of the cross as call. Today, I learned a good lesson. The poverty of the poor must be so difficult for them. While looking for a home I walked and walked till my arms and legs ached. I thought how much they must hurt in body and soul, looking for a home, food and health. Then, the comfort of Loreto [her former congregation] came to tempt me. "You have only to say the word and all that will be yours again", the Tempter kept on saying ... Of free choice, my God, and out of love for you, I desire to remain and do whatever be your Holy will in my regard. I did not let a single tear come.-Mother Teresa

It can also be viewed in her diary that she wrote that at first it was big challenge and struggle for her as where to get some foods and financial as she herself has no income or salary. But due to her love of the humanity she was recognized by the Vatican diocesan to become the Missionaries for Charity.
