4 Must Go-Places in Northern Mindanao
1. Maria Cristina Falls, Iligan City
Maria Cristina falls was all over my history books before not just because of its astonishing beauty but for it has generated the electricity of Iligan since the development of hydropower energy. You can reach Iligan City by riding a bus through Bulua Terminal in Cagayan. In entering the premises, you would have to pay 30 pesos in witnessing it though, I assure you all that the money won't matter anymore after seeing and capturing its beauty.
2. Timoga, Iligan City
Since you are in Iligan. Don't miss to catch and refresh yourselves in the water from the cold water from Maria Cristina Falls. There are actually a variety of resorts along the way the water is still the same. I forgot the name of the resort that we went to yet the entrance fee was 50 pesos and you can bring foods, drinks and desserts excluding the cottage.
3. Statue of Divine Mercy, El Salvador City
If you are a devotee of the Divine Mercy, you should not miss this in visiting Northern Mindanao. If you are from Cagayan you can ride buses that are going to El Salvador or if you are from Iligan you can take the bus going to Cagayan. The statue of Divine Mercy is a sacred place and there is an orientation before going up to the heart of Jesus. This place also is observant in dress code; wearing the provided skirts for women are advised.
4. Water Rafting in Cagayan
If you seek more adventures while you are in Northern Mindanao, this should not miss on your list. The water rafting offers beginner and advance course in water rafting.
