After the 10th round of the "Make A Difference Contest" this account has been asleep for months now. As we are currently experiencing "scarcity", the contest has been put on hold for now and will continue as soon as we have enough budget to cover for the prices. But I love the contest, giving incentives to people for sharing their good deeds is truly a very rewarding feeling on my part. I can't wait to hold another season of my "Make A Difference Contest".

For now, let me use this account to support projects that I personally believe is making this world a better place to live. One of which is this "Baktas Oplan Tsinelas" a project of the Singles for Christ (SFC) here in our municipality.

It is headed by Kuya Randall Ongbico, a registered medical technologist, who is working in one of the hospitals in Tacloban City.

Despite his busy schedule, he is very active in doing charity works in the community.

His brother, who is a midwife, is my workmate. And that's how I was able to know their group. In 2015, I started giving very little amount as a support to their activities. They have "Krayola Project" wherein they choose a certain village where they would give school supplies to the kids. And this "Oplan Tsinelas", where they give a pair of slippers to the children.

In September and October 2016, I was able to join the the 2 "Oplan Tsinelas" activities. This where I saw how passionate they are in their advocacies. There are times when reaching the village is too hard but I didn't see any slight hesitation to push their plan.

This one was when the car won't be able to cross the river because the bridge was destroyed when it was flooded. So, with the help of some community volunteers they carry the sacks that contains slippers for the kids.

Good thing the village was just a 15-20 minutes walk. When we reached the area where the slippers will be distributed, it wasn't long when it was filled by kids waiting and excited to get their new pair of slippers.

Then, one by one they entered the room to have their slippers fitted.

I didn't realize how important this activity was until I saw these kids who has worn out slippers..

FB_IMG_1539357941596.jpg

or kid's wearing this..

FB_IMG_1539358073480.jpg

or those who doesn't have any slippers to wear at all.

I've seen kids who went through the rain just to get to the venue so they can have new pair of slippers.

These might be little things to us. We might ignore these kind of slippers which only cost like 50-100Php ($1-$2) when we visit the stores because we prefer those branded ones. But imagine seeing the kids faces. Their excitement just to get those new pairs of slippers, and how it means a lot to them, I swear it will melt your heart.

So today, I am here to campaign for any support that you can offer for the project. Kuya Randall messaged me the other day that this year's "Oplan Tsinelas" is gonna be on the 27th of this month. Its only few days from now, but we still have time to collect more slippers for the kids.

Just like what I used to hear from @mermaidvampire "Any help, helps."

If one of you will pledge for $0.50 and another person will give another $0.50, then because of these two people's generosity we'll be able to get a pair of slippers for one kid. Imagine, how much impact our $0.50 could make. Also, you can resteem, tag someone that you know who might be interested to support the project, you can write about this, or you can also start your own project in your own localities.

By the way, I'm planning to post daily on this account, to raise funds and everything that will be earned (Steem, SBD and Steem Power) will be used to support the "Oplan Tsinelas" project.

Rest assured, everything will be accounted for. I will be posting receipts, documentations and all the necessary things to prove that all your support was able to reach the kids and, I'll make sure you'll see how you made them happy.

Thank you so much for your time. Keep making a difference. 🤗💙

Its this kind of help that really goes a long way. It may not mean much to others but for children who has almost to nothing, having these things such as slippers, crayons, etc. means a lot. Thank you for doing this @randomkindness. Really, the world needs more of you. GOD BLESS you.

Nabanggit mo na natahimik ang account na ito dahil walang pondo para sa contests. Pwede mo namang palaguin mula sa pagpo-post at comment. Busy ba?

That's exactly what I thought. The nickname for these slippers is like "toilet slippers"
And the kids are walking through rain for these
Bless your heart <3

That activity truly touched my heart and made me realize a lot of things. From then on, I've been supporting the project. 💙
