When friends gather together over a handful stories and a mouthful amount of foods! #breakingFAST turned #FASTbreaking

IFTAR - being an OFW in a Muslim country, you can’t help but partake to this blessed month of Ramadan either with their fasting or breaking their fast (well on my account, I don’t have any fasting to break, I’m just adding calories waaaah 😢😉😬). Iftar or Fatoor by definition means “breaking fast”, where our Muslim brothers and sisters end their daily Ramadan fasting at sunset after their call to prayer. Iftar is their second meal of the day where their daily fast begins right after their pre-dawn meal or commonly known as Suhoor.

After almost a month of not seeing my lovely weekdays gang @arrliinn, Avee, Princess and @pingcess, we finally had a chance to catch up on so many things that had happened in a span of 4 weeks. The meet up was so random, where we almost didn’t make it due to availability issues, thank God for this Sunday, so casual and sudden, well tadaaaa we made it!

After considering several options to choose from as to where we will have our Iftar, we ended up booking ourselves at Kuzbara Restaurant by Marriott Downtown Abu Dhabi.

Since working hours are shortened during Ramadan we’ve managed to meet early (5:30pm) from our supposed scheduled Iftar at 7:15pm, with a few places to go to during Ramadan we just decided to stay at Marriott while waiting for Iftar. Yes we were allowed to sit inside the restaurant at almost 6pm, so we have seen almost all the preparations being done to set up the buffet area.

We literally LIVE • LAUGH • LOVE all throughout our bonding moment, while enjoying korny jokes from everyone of course with @pingcess topping the score board for the most number of korny jokes (naturally her style by the way 😂).

Sharing with you some photos taken during our Iftar buffet dinner and stay at the restaurant. Since we OPENED the restaurant being the first customer, we were also one of the last customers who stayed till CLOSING time of the restaurant.

The buffet theme last night was Arabic and International cuisine, though mostly were Arabic foods, good thing over time I am able to eat varieties of Arabic foods which I get to enjoy nowadays. But needless to say, I expected for the prawns since I saw it on their menu list, so expectation v/s reality hit me big time waaaah!

📷 - Coffee Corner, haven’t tried Turkish coffee though

📷 - Oriental Mix Grill, with my favorite Shish Tawook (grilled chicken)

📷 - Lamb leg Ouzi served on Oriental Rice and Yoghurt, i tried it but I really can’t indulge on eating Lamb meat 😂

📷 - of course we feasted on the buffet, gonna give it a two thumbs up for the Cow’s Milk Ice Cream and their Cooooookies and Cream

More than the Iftar, it was so refreshing to meet my weekdays gang and was able to spend some good deal of quality time with them, we were also accompanied by @prinsepong. The overall experience in Kuzbara was nice from the ambience to food quality, value for money (thanks to Ms. Avee) and most of all their very warm staffs.

📷 - We were out while Princess is enjoying her vacation in the Philippines 😂

Let me end this blog by giving you additional trivia about Iftar. This is also one of the religious practices of Muslims during Ramadan where people gather together (family, friends or officemates) to break their fast. Did you know that the traditional way of breaking the fast (by eating 3 pcs of dates) traces back its origin from the time of Islamic Prophet Muhammad. Though it is not mandatory to do yet many Muslims still observe the practice emulating Prophet Muhammad’s way of breaking fast.

So do not emulate our way as we FAST BREAK in the BUFFET 😉😂😊 ... Till my next blog beautiful people!

📷 - we went home with a happy heart and crying tummies (full and bloated 😂) ... Once again thank you Ms. Avee for the amazing night of FRIENDS • FUN • FOOD
