What Are The Alternatives To Endless Growth Dystopia?

10 May 2019 | GUARDIAN.UK| Another week, another report lamenting the decimation of wildlife and the threat of natural collapse. The UN tome was so gloomy it needed 1,800 pages to spell out the message: 1 million species face extinction if we carry on like this.

Earth Custodians do not think that the situation is that gloomy, it is bad but not lethal yet. But should we refuse to change, in a generation from now there won't be any way back. The UN is merely trying to subdue people's mind with absolute fear, so people will either accept whatever solutions without questioning the meritocrats or/and think that it is too late to reverse the damages and will shrug at any suggestion to address hyperconsumerism/overproduction.

Raise taxes on firms that harm nature, OECD tells G7 countries (from hyperlink in OP)
Taxation has done nothing for millennia, so why would it work at this time? What is needed in a radical shift away from "endless growth". All mediums of exchange have a negative impact on society and nature alike because profit seeking is unethical.

We had to reach a saturation of hyperconsumerism to see this, because as long as money was flowing in, the top 1% and their pals could divert the attention (from earth's destruction) and getting filthy rich. But now everything is way too obvious.

Endless growth was the mother of all deceptions. There cannot be any responsible capitalism, you see, because as soon as one stops making profits, others take over and one begins to regress, so the fight for endless growth must be waged no matter what. In this sense, the pursuit of material success is a cognitive impairment. Monetarism has completely subverted the synchronicity with Earth, and we have been sacrificing Life on the altar of materialism for centuries now.

The head of the OECD, Angel Gurría pointed out that environment-related taxes currently accounted for only 1.6% of global economic output. And only a hundredth of that fraction generated revenue for biodiversity. “It’s microscopic,” said Gurría. “So what our tax policies essentially tell us is that we do not care about biodiversity. There is potential to scale these up, while also protecting the poorest and most vulnerable from their effects.”

At this stage the OECD lost all its credibility. Alternative news have described what is happening for quite some time, at least 2 decades. This UN body (and with the approval of world politicians) has allowed the environmental crisis to happen, because the "psychosis of success" was ruling over the planet. And still is.

The balance of incentives also needs to shift, according to the OECD report he unveiled, which found that finance flows for biodiversity may be as little as $50bn (£38bn) a year, which is just a tenth of the subsidies paid to fossil fuel companies and agribusiness, the main drivers for the climate breakdown and ecosystem collapse.

HOW REVEALING... 1/10 of the subsidies paid to fossil fuel companies and agribusiness... let's get serious now: end ALL corporate subsidies. Simple. Not to mention that those subsidies come directly from taxpayers.

A switch of priorities could redirect economic systems towards natural growth rather than material extraction, but it will be politically difficult. Many legislators rely on financial backing from energy companies and farm lobbies to win elections. The main stock indexes in London, New York and Tokyo are heavily dependent on mining and petroleum companies. Millions of jobs are at stake.

The nightmare fully described here. The OECD report won't speak of a pervasive and systemic corruption regulating the commodification of Nature and Human Beings. That is what elections have always been about. As Chris Hedge put it, the rich only care about to protect his income, regardless of the means. This is a psychosis. EC are no Chris Hedge fans but in that 20min vid below, Chris tells it like it is.

What is more? The guardian.uk is now willing to listen to any solution that will terminate the concept of endless growth. This is the comic element in this world tragedy: indeed the many online newspapers never saw the impasse coming our way either and spread illusions during all this time!

There is no way to end the "endless growth Dystopia", all economic data rather indicates that a full world crash is necessary to set all clocks back to zero. And we will have to choose wisely from there... It is obvious that monetarism has to be removed from the picture, isn't it?
