What I do here…. It was never something really “thought about” until I said it to someone last week. I have had a number of conversations with that general line of questioning in the past, but my response tended to be “undefined”. I didn’t want to be “a guy” on the platform, you know what i mean...? no...?

I mean, shoved into a pigeon hole as the psychology guy, the car guy, the crypto guy, the muso guy, etc. all things i "am" but... What these concepts indicated was a “fixing” of character where “that is all you do”, when in reality, we are ALL more than the sum of the parts which some may consider make us a whole person.

But this recent interaction got me thinking, as much as I had refused to commit to “a label” in the past, I had stated something indicating the role I have chosen within the walls of the platform. What I had said was:

Keeping in theme of "what i do here", i observe a construct , society , etc. and i provide commentary on the matters as well as evidence of the facts of what is occurring at varying levels

It seems that the role I play is to observe and report on social interactions I see in the world. I attempt to present varying constructs which may suffer from particular lack of understanding and make them a little clearer for those who are interested. Finding the middle ground, or “sitting on the fence” as many like to say, and observing/discussing what is happening on both sides.

Often times this means investigating the darker sides of opposing opinions, identifying the “truth” and the “lies” within them and discussing the 'Governing Factors' of what is occurring in the disconnect, as well as why.

Generally, there is constructive discussion on the matters bought forward within my investigation articles or radio discussions. Some which spring to mind is the flat earth theory, faked moon landings, equality of various groups(indigenous, LGBTQIA, etc.), flaws/limitations of science, the pseudoscience of Darwinism/evolutionary theory, etc.

While the people within the discussion, including myself, may not necessarily subscribe to the theories themselves, we are fleshing out the ideas and concepts to “find the merit” by which they exist. We pull apart the concepts, dissect them and try to find out what makes them tick. It is an attempt to better understand the world around us through investigation and discussion of the results found.

Lightning Rod

Unfortunately this can come with considerable adverse effects when people believe the person speaking/writing subscribes to the particular notions being discussed. This creates a lightning rod effect for the "emotional content" associated with the construct being discussed. Not only is this detrimental to the discussion taking place, but it also puts particular topics “out of reach” of discussion in the first place as they are too taboo.

However, where we learn and grow as individuals, and in methods of thinking, is through observation, investigation, interaction and understanding, this is critical to the evolution of mankind and always has been, this is what science is at its core.

What I do here

What I do here is make observations of the human condition, investigate frayed threads of humanity, follow the breadcrumbs and investigate what drives these concepts, constructs, ideas and thoughts. The more interesting revelations discovered are presented for discussion and exploration with intellectuals who are capable of thought beyond one’s own perspective, those that have the ability to remove a considerable amount of their own subjectivity and entertain a number of thoughts, many of which may be conflicting, while not accepting them. This exercise is purely for a greater understanding of what we are as human beings, and what this means to us moving forward.

I try my best to present the data discovered in the light in which it is presented, and that may not always be a pleasant perspective, but it is what exists “in the real world” regardless of how we feel about it. What is important to understand is the effect this perspective has on humanity as a whole... the only way to do so is to investigate, dissect and talk about it.

At the end of each of these investigations I pose a conclusion where I add my own thoughts and opinions on the subject which has been described. In this area of the article I present psychological constructs and varied understandings which aim to explain some of the behaviors observed in the data presented. THIS is where the line of conversation begins in the chat space of the article (well… where the conversation should begin) and, what is to be discussed further on air for the radio shows.

Maybe the best way to describe it is like a real and unscripted “Jerry Springer show”, where the host designs a show investigating thoughts an opinions of people in the ‘real world’, asks questions, digs for answers, and at the end…. Gives “Jerry’s Final Thought” as ones own opinion of what is going on as a catalyst for conversation or even just food for thought. THAT is what I do here….
