Im going to focus inwardly so I can reveal what this means to me. .. so I will respond later what is found.

This is interesting, maybe you could do an analogy of binding a demon, or binding and angel. I'm not 100 percent sure I am comprehending it.
This will be a crude analogy, so please bear with me.
From his earliest memory he has known hunger. His mother and grandmother the only source for attention. They are always yelling and angry. His first memories of his no good father (according to his mom and grandma) who was sent to prison, and how there is a system by those other color of people to keep them down.
By the time he is old enough to go to school, he has heard these thoughts again and again, coerced into knowing them as truth. He has made agreements with those entrusted with his care, binding these demons to himself.
Now we can do a split here, but to keep this short I will only offer two drastic examples, ignoring the many different angels/demons that he could encounter and bind to himself.
1- The area he grows up in is one of violence and despair. But the demon of hate agreement(demon) that this is purposely caused by those other colored people is one agreed on by most. In school he is taught subtly that his people are less than others, that if not for handouts they will starve. That making anything of himself is a foolish idea, unless he resorts to crime and uses the streets to make his fame and fortune. He has merely to look at those with respect and money in his neighborhood to know these demons whispers are true. His life forever altered when in retaliation against the neighborhood across town that wears a different color of representation, he shoots one of the guns in a drive by, accidentally killing one of the innocent people who had the misfortune of being there at the wrong time.
2- He has been binding demons of hate to himself and enters the fifth grade. His new teacher was the same teacher his father had, and the teacher had saw how bright his father had been. Had been saddened that he couldn't reach him. Determined to help this child escape the demons he has bound to himself, he sets out to teach the child, as he sees the same spark of genius in him that he saw in the father. The child is drawn to the angels this man is showing him to bind. Desperate to escape the demons handed to him from the start, he begins studying, each day his angel binding growing stronger as he grows smarter, his self love beginning to take hold. He slowly realizes that he's not lesser than any man, and frees himself from his demon bindings to go on to great things. He studies and becomes an engineer. A brilliant engineer, one that men from around the world wish to collaborate with as his sharp mind has visions that astound everyone.
As I said, this is a simplistic version and can be applied to just about everything. Our thoughts handed to us are alive with energy, and they are bound to us. Bound and built on until we have made so many agreements we no longer remember many of the origins. Yet always there, whispering their energy into our decisions, influencing our decisions and actions.
The purpose of prayer and mindfulness is to be aware of these demons and unbind them from oneself.
That's pretty deep, I'm going to have to ponder that some. False beliefs about things can be limiting if not crippling. Reversing it sounds like the right way to go about it.
My thoughts, are...
We can bind either, to us. But to what gain?
Inside us there are two forces:
These two forces are prevalent in the outside world. Yet, also everyone has both forces.
I have seen men bind themselves to an invoked angel, their performance exceeded their wisdom. They began, to develop the ego..became essentially everything he hated. The song they used was over 2000 yrs old! But sadly exposed me to the process.
Demons - i feel are sometimes attached to people through media one of the most interesting things was pornography. A person views this and enters their threshold. And -- after its said and done binds themselves to that person. Another, was song and dance. Sounds silly, but a persons words have a metaphysical value and when we recite songs...that are demonically inspired well we invoke them and bind them to us then.

Well I could bore you forever.
Me, no binding. I just know I am a human and there are limitations I have. The goal is to see simply your limitations, and move past them.
@practicalthought I'm sorry, my words are insufficient. I cant put into words (experiences, thoughts, feelings, emotive force). But, I want you to keep writing about these topics. As they induce a spiritual healing, a correction. Which is needed as the world heals.
