The Legend about Mimosa

Legend has it that the first acacia-mimosa grew in ancient Egypt, on a hill that sprang from the waters of the original ocean of Nun. She became the daughter of the sun god Atum, and that is why her flowers are small sun balls. Acacia became the embodiment of feminine, light and airy beginnings for the ancient Egyptians, as well as the embodiment of chastity and modesty, because at the slightest touch a shudder runs through the plant, and its leaves are folded, as if hiding from other people's views.
