My @weddingcontest Submission - Walking Into the Sun

in #photofeed6 years ago

This is another @weddingcontest submission, taken from the same wedding posted a few days ago. Sometimes certain weddings photograph better throughout for different reasons, and this wedding we had fantastic weather all day, and were able to go to a few great locations close to their venue. This was actually in their venue/church backyard, and the sun was perfectly coming through the trees.

Winning photo. Hope you win this contest. Beautiful work.@minnowhale

Thanks dude!

Lovely picture!!! Pictures like this make me miss my wedding photography business (did it for 12 years)

Ah nice! What made you stop? It definitely can be stressful, and I don't know how long I want to do it haha. But it's good money and can be fun.

Ah, it was indeed fun! Much fun! And we earned good money too :-) But a combination of health issues and children made us decide to stop and pursue other types of photography :-)

Completely understand, I haven't been doing them for many years, but I don't think it's a long-term plan ha

Depends on the workload... We did it full time, 50-ish per year. Plus: covering a wedding in Belgium often means shooting from 6-7am until midnight or most often even later...

Oh my, that's a whole different animal! We usually do about 12 hour shifts, so from say 11-11 or so. Adding on 4-5 hours would kill me haha

That is indeed basically what it did to us too! ;-)

How many weddings would you shoot a year?

I normally shoot about somewhere between 5-10, with a mixture of doing videos and photography for them. I turned down a few this year since they were close to my son's birth, but I think I have about 8 this year.

Nice. That seems a good number. Any more than one a month would be too hectic I think.

Yeah, unfortunately for me but thankfully for my wallet, in the next few weeks I'll have a string of 5 straight weddings every weekend (thankfully one of them I'll just be there as a guest), so I'm trying to prepare myself.
