Vlasto a Sacharíny – Slovakia (Slovakia the dream land) Padina was for many years in a stable population of around 6500 people. Serbia is an (can't find the right word for it, "interesting", challenging) place to live in for well almost 30 years. From war in nineties, hyperinflation that in 1993 (Daily inflation rate: 65 percent, prices doubled every 35 hours, and on the end of 1993 we had a single bill of 500 billion Dinars), bombing in 1999... when emigration was higher, Padina was not really affected by it. Until maybe 5-6 years ago. Padina is kinda a closed society with over 95% of the Slovak population. As the economic situation is not really changing in the last X years and Slovakia started it economical growth with big auto industries building factories there (that moved forward many other industries) and as Slovak descendants living abroad we could get permanent working visas there people started to move out. So the song Slovakia is kinda a joke (people in serbia joke a lot about shitty things that happens to them, that i probably how they survive all of it) about the situation. It's how the Slovakia is a dream land, and how everyone there can't wait for people from here to go there. And it is a bit of a critique about consumer society.

A bit of background about Vlasto a Sacharíny (Vlasto and Saccharines) if you missed it. They are a band from Padina, Serbia, playing, well i think, it is mostly funk/rock but never was good with genres. They started as cover band but now they have 6 original songs. The name is a joke of the Vlasto (singer). They should be Vlasto and the sweets but as he has diabetes they can't be sweets so they are Saccharines :)
