The Feeling Of High Altitude - 5289 Meter
2018 was a great year for me. I did lot of high altitude treks including two 6000+ meter summits.
The photo is from Mount Friendship peak which is famous as a semi technical peak among mountaineers. The peak is situated in Solang valley which comes under Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh state of India.
Friendship peak is a confluence of two most famous mountain ranges in India, first is The Mighty Dhauladhar range and other is Lovely Pir Panjal range. The summit shows the unforgettable 360 degree view, if one has good knowledge of moutains then he/she can identifies more than 50 six thousander peaks. I have seen the magical view from the top.
This expedition starts from Solang valley and by foot it is 25km from one side with 3200 meter overall ascent. It required crampons, iceaxe, snowshoes, gaitors, harness, helmet, and rope.
We were two without support and it was an Alpine style expedition which took only 33 hours to return from base to base included summit.
