Snowstorm and Champagne Powder

in #photofeed5 years ago (edited)

Just back from a couple of weeks up in the Canadian Rockies with family. We had crazy amounts of snow on the trip with the peak of the snowstorm culminating in Lake Louise getting 71cm (2.3 feet) of snow in 24 hours. Epic champagne powder conditions for snowboarding. The snowstorm did however close the roads heading both North and West and result in our 8 hour drive home turning into 15 hours. Shot taken with a 50mm prime at Lake Louise Ski Resort, Banff National Park.

Anything exciting happening on steem while I have been away ?

wow that looks AMAZING! its my lifetime ambition to snowboard in the Rockies......one day

It was all time conditions. Certainly the first time I have experienced conditions like in the three winters that I have been in Canada. I had only previously seen that kind of powder in Japan.

There's a lot of snow in there, it must be pretty fun to play.

Thanks . Epic conditions.

wow that's a great action shot!! I followed you more of this content!

Always exciting here. Happy New Year to you!.

Wouldn’t have a clue about anything exciting happening on steem as I’m way too selective in where I pay attention 😅

Hope the snowboarding was super awesome to make up for the extended drive 😄

The snow conditions were amazing!

howdy sir intrepidphotos! wow that's a very cool shot. you guys didn't have to be in the vehicle for 15 hours did you?

Yes ! The road was closed so we had to take a long detour.

I see..wow! One of the dangers of traveling in the mountains I reckon. glad you made it out of there safely.

Looks like fun!

So much fun and so much snow.
