It looks like another world // A Post Story...sorta

in #photofeed6 years ago

We couldn't make it out the mountains this weekend, so instead we decided to spend time as a family walking through some of the local parks. Since most of the views have houses in the background (kinda ugly), I started to take some pictures at some different angles. And find some beauty in things I wouldn't normally shoot. When I showed my family the first shot, they said it looks alien. Like something you'd find in Star Trek, or Star Wars on a distant planet. I could definitely see what they were seeing, so I started to look for some other examples. The kid got into it too. We started making up stories. I could have written one long one...but instead, you get some story starters to think about. Post stories, might be making a comeback!

The photo above looked like the little pink things were going to float away, or open their eyes.

They looked up into the trees, it was as if they were watching them. Looking closer they noticed the hundreds of tiny eyes. The tree was alive. No...it was filled with life. Someone gasped, and hearing the sound the tiny creatures took off into the air like starlings in a cloud of pink. They circled, and then landed again in the tree tops.

This one we thought the reddish branches were like tiny hands. You'd be walking along a new planet, thinking you were safe and they'd come to life and drag you down.

Their ship had landed not far from the crash site that they had spotted from the air. They crossed the glade of red trees, looking for signs of survivors. As they approached the wreckage, they saw the body hanging from the branches. It was as if a hundred tiny fingers had punctured the outer shell of the suit.

One last one - we stood in the middle of this glade looking up. We talked about how they looked like druids reaching their hands to the sky to praise the earth mother.

Ommm. Ommmm. Ommmmmmm. The sound resonated through the forest. The settlers had heard it before. It was time for them to move underground. The trees would be moving - and they wouldn't allow for them to stay. The first group of settlers had found out the hard way and had been all but wiped out. Thankfully they had come to an uneasy agreement, which allowed for both groups to live in a sort of harmony.

It feels good to write a couple of stories again. Even if they are short. It was also really fun to get the family involved, it's a fun way to spend time together.

it´s a wonderful world

awsome pictures

you did not do a A Post Story for a while. i loved some of them, and some of them i hated because i wanted to know what happened next :)

I do the same in local parks, try to skip human signs with daring angels, sounds like a lovely family time with all the musings and storytelling, great shots too. Beauty of Nature is even in parks

@jfolkmann, Beautiful photos and entertaining stories. You had a great day with your family. I really liked the photo with the pink fringe on the branches. It looks very unusual. They look like alien creatures.Thank you for sharing :)

Great pictures. As alien as the plants look to us, It isn't hard to believe how weird they would look to actual extra terrestrial aliens. That could be a story too. It is amazing how we are able to find such beauty in the simplest of things. The glad picture is by far my favorite!

Well, now I'm a happy man. Post stories have returned.

Last summer I had way too much time on my hands, in an enforced situation. The net is that I read a lot. A friend suggest a 'vampire' book and I'd never read one. I'm mean I have seen exactly one V movie...

Anyway, the hook was that the guy co wrote it with his 10 year old daughter. Who was 15 by the time the third and final volume was published. It was good enough to get me to pay for 3 books, so...

Glad the stories are back, and the family involvement makes it even better. That way if you drop a stinker you can blame it on Kiku.

Lovely, @jfolkmann! Thank you for bringing us with you on your contemplative family sojourn. ;)
