I tried to use backlighting to highlight those photo-enhancing furry edges of the deer . I think the nice rim light created ,works especially well on the ears...

That dramatic light that comes at the beginning and ending of each day coincides, i find deers tend to be most active. as they see better in low light

A 100-400mm or 200-400mm lens on a tripod works well if you dont have the patience to wait for them to be comFy... ;)
