A walk along the Izyumsk mounds
As soon as the sun came out from behind the clouds - on the way!
This time we walked along the outskirts of the town of Izyum. Boundless expanses, high embankments, we could not but admire the beauty of nature!
But in ancient times very important historical events took place on these expanses.
In the XI-XII centuries, within the boundaries of the modern city, there were battles between Old Russian princes and nomadic Polovtsians, descriptions of which came to us in the ancient chronicles.
March 7, 1111 near Izyum, the army of seven Russian princes under the leadership of Grand Duke Vladimir Monomakh was defeated by the Polovtsians in the battle on the Salnica River.
Mention of the Russian patrol patrol on Forde through the Seversky Donets, from which the Izyumsky Shliakh (known as "Izyum Sakma" from the Crimean Tatars) began, is contained in written sources for 1571.
Therefore, sitting on a bench, you can imagine how ancient warriors fight with swords and shields. As horses from the last strength, they carry their riders into battle ...
And, perhaps, it was here that the captured future of Khurem Khaseki-Sultan (Roxalana) passed ...
And, of course, after long walks, a roadside cafe attracts you with a delicious smell and interesting advertising.

Lovely snowy landscapes... It feels unreal that it is snowing in some part of the world at the moment as I am in very warm Thailand but it is lovely to see this, always a good reminder of the whole diversity of our lovely planet.
