Pine trees after heavy snowfall, and experimentation with a photography prism
There was a big snowstorm in Canada this week, which will most likely be the last of the year as the strong sunshine seems to be presaging imminent Spring. Therefore I took the opportunity to wander with a plastic bag over my camera to find awesome snowy subjects to photoshoot, ie these pine trees.
The fog that formed over my lens, plus the grain-like effect of the snow, inspired me to experiment with lo-fi effects on Adobe Lightroom. I also used a photography prism, which is quite fun to use, as it adds a psychedelic rainbow effect to subjects and gives a double-exposure-like shift of perspective.
These were shot with a Sony a77 camera and a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens, at f/2.8 for optimal bokeh.
