I went to AWS Summit Day 1 on Wednesday late. So, I missed the early morning long registration queue like I encountered last year. Same path out of the train station as when I went to the partner summit.

I chose the track on Data where they are doing a hands on lab.

OK, I wanted WIFI too. The password was on the table in front of me but it's no good. The network sucks and I ended using my mobile data. Glad I recently got a phone with no limit in mobile data.

After the session, it was break for lunch and I passed a few booth setup for recruiting. Waste of time. Just tell you to apply online or send a mail to them.

Then went into hall where I saw the various booth from Amazon, partners, sponsors and all.

An area where every bean bag was occupied.

Many people were gathered at the food section. I had to get my lunch too.

The small container of nasi lemak may not look good but taste good enough.

As I walked around during lunch time, I saw this small race track. Anyone can join the race with the deep racer car. You could not control the car other than throttle the speed. The car has deep lens to see and steering is controlled by AI model. You could choose one of the 3 pre-trained models or your own custom model which you can learn to build in one of the Deep Racer workshop session. Sound complicated enough. I didn't think the pre-trained model has any chance. So, I decided to give it a miss although winner gets an all expense paid trip to their Las Vegas event.

There were also trophies for the winners.

I was hungry. So, I went for more carbo. A chicken biryani which was good too.

Twilio was there too giving out coffee and other stuff but the queue was too long.

After lunch, the breakout sessions started again. A couple of sessions were more popular and the queue started early.

I joined the Data track where they conducted another lab with issues on the WIFI connection again.

End of day one. Complete a survey and show them the screen shot and they give you are pin. After that, I rushed to the airport one train stop away.
