The Road Back

What goes up must come down and that's what we did yesterday after getting with the bikes on top of the hill. We've done that on paved road. Not the best in the world, but paved. On the way back we tried a different one through the wood. Where my friend knew that there's an accessible road. It wasn't that accessible after all as you will see in the pics below.

The beginning of the road was nice, with a view of the Danube and some fresh plants giving signs of a confirmed spring. After a few hundred meters the conditions changed drastically due to fallen branches and trees. I guess the snow is to be blamed for that. Going under and over branches I had quite enough time to take pics from time to time and I even walked along the bike in many places.

Here you have a few of the places where we couldn't ride the bikes and I have to say that these are not the most "hard core ones". There were parts of the trail where I really had the feeling that we are no longer on a road but on a ditch. And it was kind of a ditch after all, a nature created one that had and end finally. Straight into a road near Danube.

It was nice choosing this alternative path to get back in town but I'm not getting back there soon. The bike managed to get out of there alive but there were too many branches to make the experience one that I would be eager to go back through again. Next time I will choose the "normal road" for sure.
