Bali - Scooter Ride to Seseh
Last sunday I needed a break from the busy little surf town of Canggu. Sometimes you just need to get out of here before you get a tamtrum. Too many scooters driving around this little village and a lot of constructions are going on at the moment.
Luckily it´s only a short ride with the scooter to reach some places which are still quite and traditional. When I need a break I usually take a ride through the rice fields to the next beach village called Seseh and that´s what I did on that sunday.
Letzten Sonntag brauchte ich eine Pause von der belebten kleinen Surfstadt Canggu. Manchmal muss man hier einfach nur raus, bevor man einen Koller bekommt. Zu viele Roller fahren durch dieses kleine Dorf und viele Bauarbeiten sind momentan im Gange.
Glücklicherweise ist es nur eine kurze Fahrt mit dem Roller um einige Orte zu erreichen, die noch recht ruhig und traditionell sind. Wenn ich eine Pause brauche, fahre ich normalerweise durch die Reisfelder in das nächste Strand Dorf namens Seseh, und das habe ich an diesem Sonntag getan.
To get there you need to drive a few minutes on a busy mainroad but the rest of the ride will be through small streets with lots of ricefields on the side of the road. Driving on these roads, I immediately feel more relaxed. Eeven the air you breath feels much fresher than in Canggu. Not to mention the views on the mountains you have from here.
Um dorthin zu gelangen, muss man ein paar Minuten auf einer belebten Hauptstraße fahren, aber der Rest der Fahrt führt durch kleine Straßen mit vielen Reisfeldern am Straßenrand. Auf diesen Straßen fühle ich mich sofort entspannter. Sogar die Luft die man atmet fühlt sich viel frischer an als in Canggu. Nicht zu vergessen die Aussicht auf die Berge, die man von hier aus hat.
In small villages like Seseh a lot of people still live from the cultivation of rice. It once was the same in Canggu but due to the high tourism farmers sold all there rice paddies and now there are only a few left. I really hope that Seseh does not have to experience the same.
Here in Seseh the rice is spread out on the road to dry. If you're on the scooter, you just drive over it, that's pretty normal here.
In kleinen Dörfern wie Seseh leben noch immer viele Menschen vom Reisanbau. Früher war es in Canggu genauso, aber aufgrund des hohen Tourismus verkauften die Bauern alle Reisfelder und jetzt sind nur noch wenige übrig. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass Seseh nicht dasselbe erleben muss.
Hier in Seseh wird der Reis noch auf der Straße zum trocknen ausgebreitet. Wenn man mit dem roller unterwegs ist, fährt man einfach drüber, das ist hier völlig normal.
Once in Seseh, drive through the small roads and visit all the temples aside of the road. I think there must be 3 or even 4 of them. And there is always a new temple being built somewhere. But this seems to be normal here on Bali.
The best place in Seseh is the Beach. There is hardly anyone around here and the beach usually is empty. It also is a good spot for surfing and it´s not half as crowded as Echo Beach or Batu Bolong
In Seseh angekommen, fährt man durch die kleinen Straßen und besucht alle Tempel am Straßenrand. Ich denke, es muss drei oder sogar vier davon geben. Und irgendwo wird immer ein neuer Tempel gebaut. Dies scheint jedoch auf Bali normal zu sein.
Der beste Ort in Seseh ist der Strand. Hier ist kaum jemand und der Strand ist meist leer. Es ist auch ein guter Ort zum Surfen und es ist nicht halb so voll wie Echo Beach oder Batu Bolong.

it is nice and still very peaceful. But with more tourists coming every year there is more crime. But nothing to worry about.

thank you so much @mammasitta. It´s always good to be back on that island. But if you haven´t been here for a while you will be shocked how fast it is growing.
I know how fast it’s growing. I have seen it with my own eyes every minute ....can you imagine how it was when I got there first in 1999 ?!

I can, but I have only seen photos from these days. I´ve Seen footage from the 80s from Kuta Beach as well. Just beautiful.
I guess Ubud was nothing but pure Jungle in the late 90s.
You must have had a great time here.

Hey, schöne Bilder wir waren dieses Jahr am überlegen im Sommer auf Bali Urlaub zu machen für 1-2 Wochen. Kannst du es empfehlen? Haben gehört dort kann man gut entspannen aber auch etwas Party machen :)

Vielen Dank @svenleisten. Bali ist definitiv immer einen Besuch wert. Im deutschen Sommer ist hier auch Trockenzeit und somit kaum Regen, also perfekte Reisezeit. 1 Woche fände ich persönlich zu kurz, aber 2 Wochen lohnt das schon. Entspannen und Party geht beides gut auf Bali, am besten mal die ganzen Travel Blogs abklappern. Viel Spaß
