SPRINGTIME ADVENTURES , episode 22 - A short walk under the elm trees

I'll begin this episode with a strange hairy insect ...

... looks a bit like a hairy hummingbird or a Pinocchio bumblebee ... but is a species of fly ...
... I saw it yesterday, in a small elm forest near the town ...

... while exploring the small creatures that live there...

... especially caterpillars ...

... there were many of them ...

... similar in shape ...

... and posture ...

... but very different I colors and size ...

This one was pretty long ...

... and pretty fast for a caterpillar, always moving ...

... while this very small one was motionless under the leaf of grass

Some were hiding in the tops of some young plants, under the folded young leaves.

And then, there was this hairy one ...

... with the nice, black coat ...

I saw various fungi there

Mostly on trees or on the rotting branches on the floor

There were also some vaguely familiar looking mushrooms, but I don't know the exact species...
... and this shiny little moth ...

... with long antennas...

... and another, similarly shaped moth ...

... with even longer antenna ...

... yep ... those were pretty long ...

... very cool months ... I think ...

This insect I see often in the woods ... I don't know the species ...

... and this little wasp is very common here to ...

... also this hairy beetle ...

... and this species of hoverfly
