SUMMER ADVENTURES - episode 5 - VINEYARD CONQUERED BY FLOWERS
Sometimes a combination of human work in cultivation with a bit of colorful wild growth ...
... can bring to a spectacular result...
... a lush, joyful place ...
... like something that came out of ancient Greek or Roman myths ...
... an enchanted place that Odysseus could have come across in his crazy voyages ...
... or some kind of the last refuge or place of retirement for old Mediterranean Gods and monsters ...
... it's not difficult to imagine a satyr or a group of them, jumping around these lanes covered with all sorts of wildflowers ...
... or get a glimpse of some Nymph through the dense foliage ...
... or, who knows, maybe even encounter a Centaur and discuss with him the future of cryptocurrencies with a bottle of wine and nectar to fuel the conversation ...
... or maybe see Dionysus, sleeping on the bed of flowers ... with a blessed, hedonistic smile on his face ... and a swarm of fruit-flies and shiny butterflies around a big red nose of his supreme alcoholic majesty ...
... there are many funny things that this place can evoke ...
... but at the end ...
... this is just an ordinary vineyard ...
... just more disheveled and colorful than usual.
Although I never encountered any strange mythological thing here ...
... I saw some biological creatures of ordinary strangeness.
The multitude of flowers attracts bees ...
... and flies that are mimicking bees.
There are other types of mimicry too.
This little bug is mimicking some sort of seed.
These bugs of other species, too ...
... while mating.
Another mimetic bug, of a very small species.
A very big grasshopper is hiding in the shade of the grapevine leaves.
These days, the bugs are present in big numbers.
And it seems that all the species are mating at the same time.
This beautiful and fragile looking Neuroptera species is well camouflaged on the green.
And now ...
... let's take a break from this macro view ...
... and enjoy the larger perspective ...

... of clear blue sky ...

These, much smaller ones, are building small webs between the leaves.
Many wildflowers ...

... look like little creatures that are hiding between the grapevine leaves ...

... like they are a part of the grapevine.
Meanwhile ...
The ladybug larvae are eating numerous aphids ...
... and the bees ...
... are collecting the nectar ...
... here you can see a tiny ball of pollen on bee's feet, typically red when they work on these flowers.

More than 90 photos and it needs a great patience to select these snaps in this order and to upload, great. At first I though this is just another photo blog with not much explanation or story in it. But as I scrolled down and saw the different aspects you covered in it then I really took interest in it and watched one by one, that is how I counted the number of snaps.
Did you selected the green tone purposefully or it happened so? The sunflower, the bees, spider and the worms and everything seems to have important roles in this blog.

Thank you :) Some of the close-up photographs happened to be in that tone ... and I liked it ... so I adjusted the others ... and some evening pictures I made a bit more golden yellow then they were ... In the photographs of the midday scenes with a larger perspective and a clear blue sky, I didn't interfere.
It is good idea to be more creative with photographs to make it more appealing. Over all the snaps were good.

I would love to hang out in that vineyard and drink wine with a centaur! What a magical place! I think grapevines are beautiful on their own, but the wildflowers add so much more beauty! What a wonderful stroll through a lovely place! Congratulations on your Curie! You deserve it!
Thank you :) It's good to have some bacchanals from time to time, and hang out with weird people like Centaurs ... Satyrs are almost goats, according to many representations :) so I'm sure you would speak their language and be in good company with them too.
I'm pretty sure I could chat with satyrs. They get a little randy, though, or so I've been led to believe. 😁 Maybe the centaurs would be safer!

Wow........ this is truely wonderful. Amazing pictures. I love them. The pictures of the clear blue sky and those of the flowers are personal favorites. The last picture too. I have little idea about photography so i cant even tell if they appear like dis or you added layers of colors to it. But i do love them. Keep up the good work and hope you post your next shots soon .

Thank you :) glad you like it. There are little interventions on photographs here and there, but not so big to change the subjects, all these things are essentially bright and colorful as you see them here.

Wow! So many photos! I like the angle that you used when you take photos of flowers and the sky. It's very interesting. It looks like you've been lying on the ground :)
There is so much life in this vineyard. And a lot of life is still being made there, lol. You have amazing macro shots but the landscape ones are great too. So much variety :)

But I enjoyed browsing through your story...
I think you enjoyed every second of this journey so you had to put as many photos as you can! On the other hand I understand it because you may wanted to share the exact experience you had with others.
But I think you should edit some photos, specially on contrast and sharpness, you didn't mention your device in the post so I'm not sure about the quality of photos.
Anyway, thanks for bringing this beautiful green journey on steemit!

:) Glad you did all the long journey ... true, I enjoyed the place and made a lot of photographs :) and could not decide which ones to put in and which live out of the post - so I put them all ... It's all made with a small and old compact camera, many shots that look like macro are just heavily cropped normal shots ... it's low production value, like a cheap movie ... as for the contrast, I purposely edit them to be too bright and dim and to have less contrast cause I liked that peculiar atnosphere.
This post just reeks of SUMMER!
Warm breezes, fragrant grass, bugs and the sound of cicadas. I wanted simply to throw down a blanket and recline with my book and a glass of crisp chablis.
You managed to spin such a lovely story between the images, and just had me scrolling down for more. Delightful colours and detail... and so nice to see the word from a different perspective.
