Abandoned sanatorium
Sanatorium "Zhigulevskaya Pearl" is located in the picturesque part of the ancient Volga floodplain, framed in the Zhiguli and Sokoliye mountains. On three sides it is surrounded by a pine forest, from the east to the territory of the sanatorium adjoins a relict oak grove. In the immediate vicinity of the sanatorium, on the Mastryukovsky lakes is the venue of the famous festival of art song named after Valery Grushin.
The sanatorium consists of six buildings: a dining room, a boiler room, a medical building, utility rooms and a warehouse. The main building is connected by a concrete passage with a healing one. There is a small cellar.
Since 1999, the sanatorium has been a regional rehabilitation center for drug addicts. In eight years of work, the center managed to return to normal life more than seven thousand people.
Eight years later, the sanatorium was put up for sale, and according to the media version, this happened without the knowledge of the regional authorities. Apparently, someone still bought a sanatorium. In all rooms there are signs of repair started. There is a guard, but it does not go further than the checkpoint.
The subsequent fate of the sanatorium is unknown. Perhaps there will ever be an owner who will put this place in order.

I often wonder about the stories of once grand buildings, abandoned and left to decay. It never makes any sense to me.
Visiting abandoned places is my little hobby.)
