Lonely Church (Ingjaldsholl, Iceland) [Photo of the Day #514]

Ingjaldsholl Church in Western Region of Iceland was consecrated in October 1903 and has the interesting distinction of being the oldest church in the world constructed in concrete. Located on the small hill it is photogenic as building can be. #architecture #landscape #travel

The story behind the photo:

Even though I prepared very well for this year Iceland photo-trip, this amazing country managed to surprise me at every step. While driving from Olafsvik to the Sneafellsjokull National Park, I could not ignore this small church on a lonely hill dominating the area. Amazingly photogenic and, completely surprising, without a single tourist around it, I am almost tempted to hide its location.

Technical process and challenges:

Obviously, the sky and sun location for this composition. I will replace the sky one day for sure - it is on the to-do list for long winter nights.

Post-processing or retouching:

Nope, this is the first revision of photo, so no post-processing at all. As soon as do some editing, I will post it here ;)
