SPRING FORWARD TONIGHT!!
Spring is almost here. Almost. Later in the month, actually. Despite that, daylight savings time is here and tonight at 2 am, we push our clocks ahead one hour, giving up that much-needed sleep until November when we will recoup it once again. Oh, the old clock turning torture! I want to Fall back, although I want it to be Spring, capisce? Are you for or against Daylight Savings Time? Do you see a use for it anymore? I held an atlas in my lap

Well when I was a tiny tot, it was a long walk to school. We crossed 6 roads to get to elementary school. As I was a safety, I had to be out even earlier than the other kids. I am for whatever allows the kiddos more daylight and safety, although I imagine most of the lil snowflakes get rides nowadays lol.
Yes, those millennials won't be walking anywhere! (That is what my father used to say) He lived near an elementary school and says there was never any walkers, despite all the housing around him. Times have changed and people no longer feel safe letting kids walk by themselves.

It is a shame, but it is also understandable. I can vividly remember being warned of a blue Gremlin driven by the Oakland County child killer in 76, I was 10....but we still hoofed it to school and played outside till it was dark. There were times when a car would stop and ask directions...we knew to never get too close...who knows? It is a sick and twisted world, and it is so sad.
I never worried when I was a kid, even took a ride from a stranger once. She was really nice. I thought my parents were going to freak!
Played til it was dark and walked around everywhere.
Sigh. Being alert is one thing, but, we do have to live in this world too. Right?
Exactly right. I think it is, like most things in life, a question of balance. Too protective is not good, but neither is some parents blatantly not caring either. Oh that elusive point of balance...
Balance is key! I agree with you. There is such a fine line that people have trouble finding the perfect balance.
That and the fact that it is different for everyone. One must find their own balance.

The European Union wants to stop using summer and winter time. I don't know if this desire has already turned into law. I have no opinion about it, I don't mind changing the time(hour) or not.

The US is trying to change the law also. Let's see how that goes. I really don't care that much either way, although the light mornings and evenings do attract a certain amount of encouragement for me to keep with it.

I do like the fact that when I get home now there will still be some daylight left, the season of leaving home for work and getting back in the dark does seem to long as it is LOL

On a side note one things I always find funny with time change is there is always the odd person the comes in late after time changes, even at this time with moving the clocks forward, but I have never seen them come in early because of the time change :)

There is one I knowo that does it every single year both when time goes forward and back, I cant understand how she thinks anyone believes her
Actually, people like that either think you have a short-term memory problem or they just don't care and as long as they have an excuse, they are happy!

Ohh yes me to, if your going to do a job do it the best you can and care about it, including getting to work on time, another pet peeve of mine is people who just do not check there email, there are a couple I need to call after sending the email just to tell them its important and time sensitive so hear is an idea open and read it, I dont just send emails for fun LOL
I think that is the worst. Mostly because so much work of time-sensitive material is put through, and normal people check their email regularly to keep on top of these problems.
Except when they don't. :(

I can't say I know all the reasons it started, but I can say I love it and I wish we could just stay on it all the time. I like having lots of daylight in the evenings after work so I can play in my yard. I am at a desk all day and I need to be outside part of every day.
I'm love it and I am excited it is here. I have been mindful of it for the last couple of weeks, then I'm sitting here playing around, look up and it's 4 am... what ?? yikes.... looks like I'll be sleeping part of the morning away. LOL
Is that because you already changed your clocks? So it is really 3 am? I play that game with my head for weeks.
It's really only 11pm, even though it says midnight
This justifies my staying up later, and getting up later... Until it doesn't. I need to stop playing head games. LOL

In general, the time change hasn't been a big deal to me. I nearly never got fooled by it.
It does make me unhappy when it changes back thought and I pout and complain about it a lot at first when there is no daylight left for me to enjoy after work...... even though it doesn't help anything for me to pout and complain....LOL.....
No... .it was really 4 which use to be 3. My morning hours were a little short because I slept late, but I'll still be able to see outside a little later this evening. Of course, it seems the fog has settled over the moors here....LOL... so foggy, even though it is noon !!

I agree! I am so over winter now!!! Although, I had snow on FRIDAY!!!!But, it was raining by the end and it was gone before Friday night and THEN! It was nice on Saturday and today is going to be 20C!!! Can you believe it??

Well in Thailand we don't have it but back home in Australia we still have it and i actually use to enjoy that extra hour of sunlight getting home from work i could still go for a jog on the beach and see were i was going..hehe :)
Oh, true! True! You all win! Everyone wants to keep it! LOL I guess it should not bother me, I cross over time zones all the time and it usually doesn't bother me.
But, on the way home, it takes a bit of catching up to do.
I jog here at night and I don't mind we have a lot of lights around the water here.
