Are These Flowers Fake?

Today I wanted to post some orchid photos ans while was looking for them, browsing through folders, came across this photo and had to realize something is not right here, nature is playing tricks or I'm being deceived.

Those of you who are reading my blog about African violets know that I have the habit of "rescuing" and "recycling" broken leaves (to put it nicely :D).

This leaf was rescued in March 2018, I took it home, planted in soil and took good care of it hoping it might survive and give me flowers one day.

Waiting is not very pleasant, especially when you already have experience and you know you have to wait one year to see the flower open.

In this case i had to wait nine month, like in case of a normal pregnancy, and here it is, my flower. Must admit, when I saw the flower open, was shocked because the tag on the plot said purple with white, this is more lighter than I remembered. Today I've found the proof. It is indeed more lighter than the mother flower, it's not optical illusion.

I like it anyway, don't get me wrong, and I'm happy I was able to rescue it and give it a new life, but don't really understand why African violets change so much.
