Gardening Quiz Rezult - Meet The Horseradish
A couple of days ago I posted some photos as a quiz for people to tell me what it is. Gardening Quiz.
This is the flower of the horseradish, which is not very well known. I must admit, I see the plant every year several times, I can recognize the leaves any day but not the flower as the flowering period is not very long.
This photo contains more clues as you can see the characteristic leaves. Not many plants have so broad leaves.
Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana, syn. Cochlearia armoracia) is a perennial plant of the family Brassicaceae (which also includes mustard, wasabi, broccoli, and cabbage). It is a root vegetable used as a spice and prepared as a condiment.
The plant is probably native to southeastern Europe and western Asia. It is popular worldwide. It grows up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) tall, and is cultivated primarily for its large, white, tapered root. source

Unfortunately I don't have a photo with the horseradish roots but you can see the above photo, with the roots and the grated horseradish.
I'm not a big fan of it as it has a pungent taste but consumed in small quantities it can be enjoyable, especially if mixed with mayonnaise.
In Transylvania and other Romanian regions, Red beetroot with horseradish is also used as a salad served with lamb dishes at Easter called sfecla cu hrean. source
This is my favorite pickle during winter. It tastes amazing and I could have it with everything.
@mika-ella, @sketch.and.jam, @joelai and @ikrahch here is your answer :)

I have had a horseradish plant for several years and it has never flowered! I didn't know they even did that. Maybe mine is defective?
Cool now i know what the flowers look like.

I had no idea that horseradish gets a flower! I often see it growing in the road ditches, but have never noticed a bloom!
Yes, they are flowering every year.
And the blossoms are quite lovely!
