Bad hair day?
It looks pretty cool and it is still a small cactus overall, even though on photos they do look quite intimidating. Little purple button that wants to look mean.

This one is also a little skinny after the winter. If you look closely you will see how shriveled it is. Soon they will get some water and fertilized and she will be back to her normal, round self.

You mean the brown thing on top? It's lava. I mix some with the soil and leave some on top too. Looks nice :)

I saw such cacti in which the top spines become longer with age :-)))
