This is one of my favourite blooming bushes my um grows in her garden. She has two or three types with pale pink, almost white flowers, and those with dark pink ones and very dark red leaves.
The photos below are from the same plant, but I took it in one of the Portuguese gardens. They are way bigger here and bloom way more intense. The weather here is mild, so they re allowed to grow though most of the year. Polish fall and winter stops the growth and they have to start over again.
I have tried to grow Weigelas in pot. Few years ago I took some cuttings from mum's bushes. They even rooted and grew for one season, but then died back. I think I might try again with the dark pink one. I can imagine in as a nice sized bush covered with those pretty flowers. I even have a perfect spot and pot for it.
