A 'Kitchen' During Those Days!!

in #photography5 years ago

Hi Guys.... This blog is bit surprising!.... Because I am here with these cool pics of an olden days' Kitchen!!... :)

image

Yes my dear Friends.... The Museum (An ancient House)which we visited last Sunday, also had a kitchen with lots of things used in cooking during those days including ovens, big sized drum-like vessels, storing drums and boxes, porcelain containers which we call 'Bharani' here, and so on...

All these things were neatly arranged in wooden shelves, which also reminded us about the life of our grandparents' time!! As they used to live in joint families, the size of these vessels is also sufficiently big!! ... ;) :)

Enjoy the pics....

This is the pile of earthen pots...

They used to store rice like this... It's called 'Akki Mudi,'... Dry grass of paddy was being used for tying rice, resembling a big ball...

image

Onion and Garlic were stored like this... Tying them in a bunch to the roof... :)

Even few varieties of vegetables were stored like this, to be used during the rainy season....

All these pics were taken using my smartphone Honor.

Will come tomorrow with the pics of beautiful ceilings...
With much love, @geetharao...

Excellent review @geetharao, your photos showed me how people lived in antiquity and with what dishes they ate!

Very interesting exhibits. They give a complete picture of how our ancestors lived. Useful museum

I'm still fond of these utensils.
The food cooked & served in these vessels is more healthy and tasty. And I find it easier to bake chapatis on clay griddle. On metal ones, I used to get them burnt mostly ...LOL!

Except that Akki Mudi, I love all these. I haven't seen Akki Mudi probably because eating rice is not common in our culture.

Which museum is this one?
Can I call my home a museum too? 😉

Many old practical accessories.totally a memories post.

Really the old stove and pots got remind after looking these. Thanks for sharing.

It's very old time in India and now we grow up
