Great egret #1
The great egret (Ardea alba), also known as the common egret, large egret found in Asia, Africa, the Americas, and southern Europe.
The length of the body is 90 – 100 cm, the width of the wings about 140 – 190 cm and the mass – 700 – 1600 g.
The plumage is pure white, the legs are black, the skin around the eyes is yellow-green and the iris is yellow.
There are no decorative feathers on the head. The flight is with slow, uninterrupted cramps and folded neck.
Overflight and group flights are always V-shaped.
The silhouette reminds her of her relative gray and ruddy heron, but she is pure white.
From a distance or when it can not be judged the size can be confused with the little white eggplant.
