Yesterday on the way to the beach another turtle marched across the road. You can actually meet them here more or less all the time. When I see her on a busy road marching across the road, I stop whenever I can and carry her to the other side of the road.
In the sea at our front door you can also see large specimens of turtles from time to time. On the opposite third largest island in the Ionian Sea Zakynthos one finds the Caretta sea turtle. These can reach a size of over 1 m and weigh up to 100 kg. If you are very lucky while snorkelling you can discover such a sea turtle under water and swim with it.

On the island of Zakynthos there are tours with modified messengers where you can watch the turtles under water. Mostly this tour is combined with an excursion to one of the most famous postcard motives of Greece. The shipwreck in Smuggler's Cove.

I really liked the pictures of turtles! I only saw them at the zoo. The weight of turtles is more than 100 kilograms.
