LUDWIK MICHAŁ HRABIA PAC - founder of Scotland - luxurious palace.
Today I spent the day in a picturesque and allegedly luxurious palace :) Maybe a brief explanation at the beginning: this is not about British Scotland, of course, but about a village in the Suwałki region in Poland ... :)
It is located in Dowspuda - Ludwika Pac's Palace. Unfortunately, the fate of Pac's palace is desperate.
It all began in 1820, when Ludwik Michał Pac started the construction of the palace. Funded by fighting alongside Napoleon, where he was a general in his army. The construction was completed in 1823. Old writings proclaim that it was a construction flowing in luxuries. Apparently even the most expensive marbles and crystal mirrors were to be lined up in the stable.

Unfortunately, Count Pac did not rule here for very long, because already in 1830, the tsarist authorities confiscated Dowspuda's goods. It was a punishment inflicted by the tsar for Pac's participation in the November Uprising. Pac's palace then passed from hand to hand, but no one could properly take care of it. In this way, he went to the last tenant, who decided to dismantle and sell bricks and material for the construction of the barracks in Suwałki.
There is not much left of the ruins today. For lack of funds, unfortunately, there is no reconstruction project, and what the European Union has given has been used to renovate the park around this place. The cognitive path "Park in Dowspuda - nature and history" was created, which everyone can walk to take a walk.
I learned from a family that lives quite nearby that a certain person from Warsaw bought a palace and lands around it and is going to rebuild it in a palace similar to the original one.
I vote for them:
My work without them would not make sense, thank you for support.

Even for me, all this is very strange, but I am happy that after all these years there is a man who will rebuild the beautiful palace and return to the aesthetic aura.
