Friedrichsorter Enge
This picture was also taken during my walk last Sunday on the east side of the Kieler Förde. It shows the so-called Friedrichsorter Enge, the narrowest part of the fjord, which is only about 2 km wide here.
Dieses Bild ist auch bei meinem Spaziergang am vergangenen Sonntag auf der Ostseite der Kieler Förde entstanden. Es zeigt die sogenannte Friedrichsorter Enge, die engste Stelle der Förde, welche hier nur ca 2 km breit ist.
A few words about what can be seen on the picture (from left to right):
- Lighthouse Friedrichsort: built 1965-1971, marks the entrance to the Kiel Fjord
- A ferry of the shipping company DFDS Seaways entering the fjord; the ferries run daily between Kiel and Kleipeda
- Möltenort U-boat Memorial: a memorial for all fallen soldiers of the German U-boat Units during the First and Second World Wars. The memorial consists of a memorial column, which is crowned by a 4.80 m high eagle, and of a tour with bronze commemorative plaques, on which all soldiers involved in the accident are named.
Note: the perspective is deceptive, the lighthouse and the memorial are not directly opposite but slightly offset, nevertheless one can guess how narrow it is in this place, I think.
Ein paar Worte zu dem, was auf dem Bild zu sehen ist (v.l.nr.):
- Leuchtturm Friedrichsort: erbaut 1965-1971, markiert die Einfahrt in die Kieler Förde
- Eine Fähre der Reederei DFDS Seaways bei Einfahrt in die Förde; die Fähren fahren täglich zwischen Kiel und Kleipeda
- U-Boot-Ehrenmal Möltenort: eine Gedenkstätte für alle gefallenen Soldaten der deutschen U-Boot-Einheiten während des Ersten und Zweiten Weltkriegs. Das Ehrenmal besteht aus einer Gedenksäule, die von einem 4,80 m hohen Adler gekrönt wird, und aus einem Rundgang mit bronzenen Gedenktafeln, auf welchen alle verunglückten Soldaten namentlich genannt werden.
Anmerkung: die Perspektive täuscht, der Leuchtturm und das Ehrenmal liegen nicht direkt gegenüber sondern leicht versetzt, nichtsdestotrotz kann man erahnen wie eng es an dieser Stelle ist, denke ich.

Ich hoffe, die frische Luft hat gegen deinen Kater geholfen. Ich hab es mir gestern zuhause gemütlich gemacht, bei dem Schmuddelwetter hatte ich keine Lust rauszugehen. Aber hier waren auch noch einige Dinge dringend zu erledigen.

Klasse Bild! Es bringt die Größe vom Schiff richtig gut rüber weil der Leuchtturm als Bezugspunkt mit drauf ist. Schön das du wieder mehr Zeit findes hier zu sein! Beste Grüße
Danke, freut mich, dass dir das Bild gefällt :) Ja, das Schiff müsste sogar so ziemlich auf Höhe des Leuchtturms gewesen sein. Auf jeden Fall sind die DFDS Fähren tatsächlich nicht allzu groß. Und ja, ich bin auch froh, dass ich endlich wieder mehr Zeit für hier habe. Liebe Grüße zurück :)
