Caro, Indonesia

Lightning hits the Sinabung volcano in Caro. Sinabung erupted in 2010 for the first time in 400 years. The volcano erupted again in 2013 and it has remained very active ever since.

The Indian Ocean

A sonar image published by the Australians shows a wrecked ship on the bottom of the Indian Ocean. A four-year search failed to locate Malaysia Airlines 370 flights, but the search for the missing plane may be close to solving two mysteries of the 19th century: the location of two sailboats that disappeared while carrying coal. Marine historians have published a short list of possible identities of two shipwrecks found during the initial search of 710,000 sq km for the Boeing 777 lost in 2014 with 238 people on board.
