Of course, when I'm visiting my parents' house, I have to go to the forest behind the house, and see how the creek and little waterfalls are. | Wenn ich schon auf Besuch in meinem Elternhaus bin, dann muss ich natürlich in den Wald hinter dem Haus gehen und schauen, was der Bach und die kleinen Wasserfälle machen. |

There is still enough water flowing at the moment because it has been raining enough, and the melt water from the snow is also coming from the mountain, but in the summer months, the stream will probably almost dry out and be only a thin brook. | Zur Zeit rinnt noch genug Wasser, weil es in letzter Zeit ja auch genug geregnet hat und auch das Schmelzwasser vom Schnee vom Berg kommt, aber in den Sommermonaten, wird der Bach wahrscheinlich wieder fast austrocknen und nur noch ein dünnes Bächlein sein. |

When you see these images, you might not believe it, but last year we had heavy rains in the fall, and this little brook flooded and polluted a road and a neighbor's garden.
Sorry to hear that. Water does get a little wild doesn't it
Thank you Ross - we haven't had so much water for many, many years, and our house was luckily not damaged. The problem was a bridge, which didn't let all the material through, that came down from the mountain, what lead to the flooding then. But they have repaired pretty much everything over the last few months.
I prefer the brook as it is now ;)
The last real flood, by the way, was in August 1966, where everything was flooded and my mother had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter because my sister wanted to be born.
Oh wow! I bet that's a story for the kids : )
That's true, we have already told them, when this flooding happened last Autumn. They didn't believe it, until we showed them a photo of the helicopter landing on a field nearby :)

Fließendes Wasser mit langer Belichtungszeit ist einfach immer wieder toll! Und wenn es dann noch so ein schöner Wasserfall ist, macht es noch viel mehr Spaß! Vielen Dank für die schönen Bilder!

Nach den starken Regenfällen im letzten Herbst, wo auch dieser kleine Bach über die Ufer getreten ist und die Straße und das Grundstück eines etwas tiefer gelegenen Nachbarn komplett vermurt hat, haben sie das Bachbett komplett gesäubert und ausgegraben, aber so weit sind die Maschinen dann nicht mehr gekommen - mein Lieblingsmotiv hinter dem Haus bleibt bestehen :)
