Picture Stories #226 - Queen Mother 🐜
A queen and a mother you don't wanna mess with! Yes, this is the queen mother ant and doesn't she look gorgeous 😉. She's certainly a very fascinating insect, given the fact she's the lifeline of an ant colony and from what I've heard, she tends to lay eggs non-stop for the colony to grow. She definitely lives the life of a queen with other ants (her subjects) taking good care of her and protecting her while she lives her life tucked away deep inside the nest, going about doing her royal chores.
I'm always fascinated by seeing such larger than life sculptures and replicas of smaller plants and animals, as it adds fun to our lives and makes us wonder what would happen if we encounter giant versions of the animals and plants we assume to be small and harmless.
A queen ant can lay a whooping 3,00,000 eggs in just a few days!
