Picture Stories #308 - Tall Giraffes
I absolutely adore Giraffes, and although I've seen these animals live only on a few occasions while visiting zoos, I always find them to be royal and magnificent inhabitants of the animal kingdom. They are certainly special creatures by virtue of being the tallest mammals on the planet, and it was a great pleasure watching the below pictured giraffes roaming about in their enclosure and feeding on the leaves of tall trees.
Interestingly, the spots that cover the coats of Giraffes are unique in pattern to each animal, just like the human fingerprints are unique to each individual.
According to me, the most special feature of giraffes is definitely their long neck!

We have a wild park and nursery where we go and feed baby giraffes. You still have to climb into a watch tower like building as the little ones are still quite tall. They are regal looking and my favorite is the Rothschild breed which has darker brown markings.
i'm jealous haha. it must be such a good family outing, i'm hoping to try it once.
Giraffe talks to a rabbit:
"Hey rabbit, I tell you, it is wonderful to have such a long neck. When I see fresh leaf up on the tree I reach for it with ease, I pick it up gently and then chew and chew, mhm... And then I feel as it goes down my long neck, through every part, every segment... And when I drink cold water during hot day I feel it cooling down my magnificent long neck, flowing through every part, mhm..."
The rabbit looks up at dreamy giraffe, clearly unimpressed, and asks:
"Giraffe, have you ever puked?"
lol, haha i guess the puke never makes it so far up it's mouth :D
Absolutely agree, due to such height and long legs their pace look so slow down and gorgeous. I remember from school we were asked a question by teacher how many cervical vertebra has a giraffe, because a human has 7 and we all know how long the human neck is, we all guessed that definitely more than human but were wrong, a giraffe has also only 7 vertebra only they are elongated.
