Green Photography Contest: green-hair cook making green omelette, ย้อมผมสีเขียวมาขายไข่เจียว

Yesterday I dropped by to see old friends and get some lunch at Amarin Plaza. They are on the fourth floor at the food court selling organic fruits, vegetables, Thai sweets and green omelette.

These people have come together as a small community of people who prefer a slower and old way of life. They help small scale organic farmers to market and sell their produce. They also offer fresh vegetable salads with various dressings for customers to take away. I like to buy fresh green and fruits from their stalls as they taste very good. These people are always making joke and fun of each other so the atmosphere there is always very jolly and noisy.

I did manage to take pictures of this young cook with green hair by chance. She is a very good omelette maker! The recipe is original as they just put all the available herbs and green salad in the omelette. The herbal omelette is then served with warm rice. The dish is a complete meal in itself, at a very reasonable price of fifty bahts (around one dollar and twenty cents).

I would follow up the main dish with some Thai sweets which are lovingly made by the old lady at the stall. She used to be a teacher at the cooking course in a well known teachers’s training college. So, whenever I want to have a lively chat and gossips about film stars, I would drop by this community to catch up with current news.

เมื่อวันก่อนเราไปหาข้าวกลางวันกินที่อัมรินทร์พลาซ่า และแวะไปเยี่ยมเพื่อนเก่าที่ขาย ผักผลไม้ปลอดสารเคมีที่สวนอาหารชั้นสี่ เราเลยได้โอกาสแอบถ่ายรูปคนขายไข่เจียวใส่ผักสมุนไพร เขาไปทำผมสีเขียวมาแลดูสะดุดตามาก ก็ได้ภาพตกใจตามธรรมชาติมาดูเล่น คนที่นี่มารวมตัวเป็นเหมือนหมู่บ้านเล็กๆ เพราะเขาชอบอาหารปลอดสารเคมี และการใช้ขีวิตแบบช้าๆและมีความพอเพียง เวลามาที่นี่เราจะได้เห็นเขาพูดเล่น หยอกล้อกันสนุกสนานและส่งเสียงดัง ทำให้มีชีวิตชีวามาก

ส่วนไข่เจียวสมุนไพรนั้น เป็นสูตรที่เขาคิดกันเอง โดยเอาผักและพวกสมุนไพรที่ขายมาผัด แล้วตีไข่ใส่สองฟอง มีพริกตำด้วยสำหรับคนชอบกินแซ๋บ พอกินอาหารจานหลักเสร็จเราก็จะตามด้วยของหวานที่หญิงสูงวัยมาทำขายเกือบทุกวัน เธอเคยเป็นครูสอนการทำอาหารที่วิทยาลัยครูมาหลายสิบปี ขนมไทยที่ทำมาขาย มักจะเป็นของโบราณที่เราไม่เคยรู้จักมาก่อน เวลามาที่นี่ก็ได้ติดตามข่าวดาราและบ้านเมืองจากคนขาย เพราะเขามีลูกค้าหลากหลายมาเล่าข่าวให้ฟัง เราจะได้ไม่ตกกระแสข่าวของคนเมืองมากนัก
