SADOKA SHIMA 佐渡島　Sado Island, Japan

　

One of my travels has brought me to this remote island a couple of hours of the western coast of Japan, technically still a part of Niigata prefecture. During the Edo period the shogunate used this island to ban the people who feel in disgrace. Still far enough from the capital and their supporters but still within it's reach to have a tight grip one those unlucky ones.

The island is a nature paradise, lots of rocky coastline and with clear water and empty beaches. Good chances to takes some great pictures, enjoy the sun and watch it going down. The best time for photos anyways.

Today's collection is shot at some place called lovers rocks, some legend goes around there of some sad love story which ended with a woman drowning herself. Not the most cheerful place, but definitely a spot with some magic.

I hope you enjoy today's pictures and you are able to feel some of the special atmosphere of that place, which for some people long time ago was the end of the world.

Die Insel SADO, am Feld der Liebenden (oder Leidenden)

Eine meiner Reisen hat mich auf diese abgelegene Insel ein paar Stunden vor der Westküste Japans gebracht, die technisch immer noch ein Teil der Präfektur Niigata ist. Während der Edo-Zeit benutzte das Shogunat diese Insel, um die Menschen zu verbannen, die in Ungnade gefallen wahren.Noch weit genug von der Hauptstadt und ihren Unterstützern entfernt, aber immer noch in Reichweite, um alles fest im Griff zu haben.

Die Insel ist ein Naturparadies mit vielen Felsküsten, klarem Wasser und leeren Stränden. Gute Chancen, tolle Bilder zu machen, die Sonne zu genießen und den Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten. Die beste Zeit für Fotos sowieso.

Die heutige Sammlung habe ich an einem Ort geschossen, der "lovers rock"genannt wird, also dem Felsen der Liebenden. Eine Legende erzählt von einer traurigen Liebesgeschichte, die mit dem Ertrinken der unglücklichen Frau endete. Nicht der fröhlichste Ort, aber definitiv ein Ort mit viel Magie.

Ich hoffe, euch gefallen die heutigen Bilder und ihr könnt etwas von der besonderen Atmosphäre dieses Ortes spüren, der für manche Menschen vor langer Zeit das Ende der Welt war.
